She was a wonderful wife, mother, and daughter whose love was unconditional. She was a Language Arts/Social Studies teacher at Perry Meridian Sixth Grade Academy. She graduated from IUPUI as an event planner, and later returned to Ball State to pursue her dream of a degree in Education. ![]() Katie was a 2011 graduate of Greenwood Community High School. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Vernon Fink. Survivors also include her parents Mark and Jodi Fink of Greenwood two brothers, Logan (Jessica) Fink of Indianapolis and Landon (Taylor) Fink of Greenwood maternal grandparents Steve and Sharon Lasley of Oneonta, AL and paternal grandmother, Wilda Fink of West Palm Beach, FL. Katie is survived by her husband Chris Rust, daughter Everly, and son Leo. She married Chris Rust on Augin Noblesville, IN. She was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Mark and Jodi (Lasley) Fink. Katie Leigh Rust, 28, passed away peacefully in her home with family at her side Thursday, April 7, 2022. ![]()
